I remember copying elements of the background in the opening scene and the look of Mimi from Gary Panter's Pee Dog. I didn't have the actual comic but some pages were sampled in an interview with him that appeared in a NY punk magazine called Forced Exposure. Another influence (probably) was growing up listening to sermons like THIS.
